From Site to Strategy,
Shining with Presence & Agility

In facilities management, scale and service must move in step, growth only has meaning when it strengthens, not stretches, the connections that matter most: people, places, and purpose. At Kanso, we’ve built our reputation on partnerships rooted in trust, care, and personal attention. Being big enough to deliver, small enough to care means having the capability, reach, and expertise to take on ambitious projects, while never losing the human touch that makes every client and every team feel seen, heard, and supported.

For Vytautas Poudzius, this balance defines his leadership. His approach, “doing first, speaking second”, embodies Kanso’s belief that leadership starts with presence. It’s about showing up, setting the standard, and staying close to the people who make our success possible. On-site, in action, and always connected, Vytautas leads with the care and clarity that reflect Kanso’s unique blend of professionalism and personal commitment.

In this conversation, Vytautas shares how staying grounded in people, purpose, and presence allows Kanso to deliver at scale, without ever losing the closeness, trust, and agility that define who we are. From nurturing relationships across teams and clients to growing responsibly and sustainably, his insights reveal how we keep that perfect balance: the strength to deliver, and the heart to care.

Q&A with Vytautas Poudzius, Area Manager at Kanso FM

Q, Your tag line is  “Leadership means doing first, speaking second.” How does that approach help Kanso stay hands-on and people-focused, even as the business grows?

Vytautas

For me, leadership starts with action. I believe that being on the ground, working alongside our teams, and showing what good looks like creates a culture of accountability and respect. At Kanso, we lead by example, which keeps us connected to the people doing the work every day. It reminds us that growth doesn’t mean stepping back; it means stepping up, staying close to our people, our purpose, and the care that defines us.

Q, As Kanso grows across the UK and Ireland, how do you make sure that attention to detail and personal care stay consistent across every site?

Vytautas

Consistency comes from culture, not just process. We invest time in developing our managers and ensuring that our values are lived by, not just spoken. Every site reflects the same Kanso standards because our teams genuinely care about what they do. We support them with clear systems, regular communication, and the freedom to take ownership. That mix of structure and trust keeps our attention to detail strong, our service personal, and our culture consistent, no matter how much we grow.

Q, What does agility mean in practice for a company like Kanso? How do you remain adaptable while maintaining a close connection to each site?

Vytautas

Agility, for us, means staying open-minded and responsive. Every site has its own character and challenges, so we listen carefully, adapt quickly, and avoid one-size-fits-all solutions. We keep communication lines short and decision-making simple, that’s how we stay connected. It’s about empowering people locally while ensuring they know they’re part of something bigger: a team that delivers with care and confidence.

Q, You talk about staying calm and leading with clarity. How does that mindset help maintain consistency and care when operations get complex?

Vytautas

Calm leadership brings confidence. When things get busy or complicated, people look for clarity and reassurance. I focus on simplifying the message and setting priorities, so the team knows exactly what matters most. That steadiness helps us maintain high standards without losing sight of the people behind the work. It’s how we deliver at scale while keeping our care genuine and focused.

Q, Trust is central to what Kanso stands for. How do you build and protect that trust with teams and clients, as the business grows?

Vytautas

“Trust is earned through consistency and transparency. We say what we’ll do, and we do it, every time. With our teams, that means being open, listening, and backing them to make decisions. With clients, it means clear communication and delivering on promises. As we grow, we’re careful not to dilute that. Protecting trust is about nurturing relationships; it’s what our reputation and our ability to care at scale are built on.”

Q,How do you see the connection between strong on-site presence and Kanso’s ability to scale responsibly and sustainably?

Vytautas

Being on-site ensures growth is grounded. Our presence is what keeps us real and connected. By being visible and involved at every level, we can spot opportunities, solve problems early, and make sure our standards never slip. Scaling responsibly means never losing that personal connection. The moment you step away from the sites, you risk losing the heartbeat of the business. We grow sustainably by staying close to where the work happens, that’s how we stay big enough to deliver, but small enough to care.

Q. Looking ahead, how do you hope to guide Kanso’s next phase of growth while keeping its close-knit culture intact?

Aaron:

Our next phase is about growing with purpose, not just in size, but in strength. I want to nurture the same sense of ownership, pride, and care that got us here. That means staying people-first, investing in our teams, and keeping communication open as we evolve. Culture isn’t something you protect by standing still; it’s something you carry forward by making sure every new person understands what Kanso stands for, that blend of scale and sincerity that defines who we are.

“I just want to finish by saying how much I value trust in everything we do. Trust isn’t just a word for me; it’s the foundation of how we guide our teams, support each other, and deliver consistently high standards. When a team knows you are present, listening, and willing to work alongside them, it changes the way they approach their work; it inspires care, attention, and pride in what they do.

At Kanso, what we’re doing matters. Whether it’s maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming environments or supporting teams across different sites, every small action contributes to a bigger purpose. It’s about creating spaces where people feel cared for and respected, and building teams that feel valued and confident. That’s why I’m passionate about leading by example, staying hands-on, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

I’m really proud of the work we’re doing, and I’m excited to continue guiding our teams, growing responsibly, and making sure that as we expand, the quality, care, and culture we’ve built remain at the heart of everything we do.”
